

Marvin E. Edwards, 68, of Springfield, died at 5:56 p.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2015 at St. John's Hospital. Marvin was born July 6, 1946 in Thompsonville, IL the son of Bryce and Lucile Sparks Edwards. He married Debra Lynn Milner on February 28, 1987 in Marion. Marvin was a graduate of Johnston City High School and went on to SIU Carbondale and St. Louis College of Pharmacy. He retired from St. John's Hospital after 23 years of service, and most recently worked for the State of Illinois. Marvin was a local member of Pharmacy Association, First United Methodist Church, and enjoyed gardening, woodworking, auctions and estate sales. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Larry Edwards. He is survived by his wife, Debra L. Edwards of Springfield; one son, Luke Edwards of Cape Girardeau, MO; one daughter, Holly Edwards of Springfield; one brother, Charles (wife, Dorris) Edwards of Johnston City; three brothers-in-law, Burkett (wife, Beverly) Milner, Lee (wife, Cindy) Milner, and Darrell (wife, Sue) Milner; one sister-in-law, Sandy (husband, Rick) Babington; and several beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Additional Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will also receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, May 1, 2015 at Wilson-McReynolds Funeral Home, 900 N. Court St., Marion, IL. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
