

Mary Margaret “Babe” Bracco, 67, of Springfield, died at 8:20 a.m. Friday, April 18, 2003 at St. John’s Hospice. Mary was born June 1, 1935 in Springfield the daughter of Thomas Ray Sr. and Mabel Kress Ray. She married Joseph Bracco August 2, 1958. She was formerly employed at Equitable Life Insurance Company and retired as Office Manger for Illinois Society of Professional Engineers after 27 years. She was a member of St. Joseph Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers: Thomas and Paul Ray and four sisters: Virginia Hostick, Janet Cicciarelli, Patricia Dixon and Marjorie Shimkus. She is survived by her husband: Joe of Springfield; one daughter: Janet L. Bracco of Springfield; two sons: Joseph A. (Fiancée, Karen Williams) Bracco II of Springfield, Jeffrey T. Bracco of Springfield; two grandchildren: Adam J. Bracco of Arenzville, April A. Bracco of Springfield; two sisters: Jean (husband, George) Pape of Springfield, Camille Isringhausen of Springfield; two brothers: Jack (wife, Rosie) Ray of Springfield, Richard (wife, Hazel) Ray of Springfield and many nieces and nephews Friends may call at St. Joseph Catholic Church from 10:30-12:30 Tuesday, April 22, 2003. Concelebrated Funeral Mass will be at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, 2003 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Reverend Theodore Bracco, O.F.M. principal celebrant. Burial will follow in Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family of Mary Margaret “Babe” Bracco is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
