

Mickey was born on November 20, 1932, in Kokomo, IN, the daughter of Robert and Lois Dufendach Arnett. She married Gordon John Fifer on February 12, 1955; he preceded her in death on June 22, 2009.
Mickey graduated from Kokomo High School in 1950 and earned her bachelor’s degree in Home Economics from Purdue University in 1954. She volunteered at the Chatham Library and was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Old Gridiron Club, and Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Mickey was an avid fan of the Chicago Cubs, the Fighting Illini, and the Purdue Boilermakers. She enjoyed knitting, sewing and attending her grandchildren’s sporting events.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; sister, Marge Wohlford and grandson, Ben Fifer.
She is survived by her sons, David (wife, Gail) Fifer of Indianapolis, IN, John (wife, Susan) Fifer of St. Charles, MO, Tim (wife, Pam) Fifer of Oconomowoc, WI, and Tom (wife, Lori) Fifer of Indianapolis, IN; daughters, Kathy DeLau of Cedar Falls, IA, Shari (husband, Dr. Steve) Hazelrigg of Springfield, and Carrie (husband, Eric) Wilham of Springfield; grandchildren, Dan (Kelsey) Fifer, Megan (Greg) Curran, Katie Fifer, and Chris Fifer, Steve Fifer and Elizabeth (Nick) Kilgore, Jared Fifer and Hope Fifer, Ali Fifer, Zach Fifer, and Kassy Fifer, Stephanie (Seth) Munier and Austin DeLau, Andy (Maggie) Hazelrigg, Lindsey Hazelrigg, Matt Hazelrigg, and Sean Hazelrigg, Michelle Wilham, Rachel Wilham, and Erin Wilham; four great-grandchildren with two on the way; sisters, Betsy Dresser of NY and Nancy (husband, Bob) Fosnough of IN; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 3, 2019, at Butler Funeral Home-Chatham, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at St. Joseph the Worker, 700 E. Spruce St, Chatham with Very Rev. Christopher House, celebrant.
Burial will follow at Chatham Memorial Cemetery.
