

Mary Lou (Rowland) Gleason, 74, of Springfield, passed away at 1:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Bridge Care Suites. Mary Lou was born October 22, 1941 in Springfield, the daughter of Aubrey and Lula Mae McCubbin Cleaver. Mary Lou lived in the Springfield area all her life and was employed with the Secretary of State for more than 30 years. She enjoyed bingo and visiting casinos. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Thorton Ryder; husbands, Harry Rowland and Fred Gleason; two brothers, William and Frank Cleaver; and one sister, Betty Hughes. She is survived by her children, Gary Rowland of Springfield, Cindy (Tom) Fitzgerald of Springfield, Allan (Christina) Gleason of Ashland, Rick (Teri) Gleason of Pleasant Plains, and Micheal Gleason of Petersburg; seven grandchildren, Regan and Keifer Fitzgerald, Heather, Andrew, Samantha, Adam, and Tristan Gleason; three brothers, Joe (Rosalie) Cleaver of Springfield, John Cleaver of Champaign, Richard (Jeanie) Cleaver of Farmer City; one sister Virginia Hartwig of LeRoy; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, November 12, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Deacon Joseph Cleaver, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
