

Mary Kay Hedges, 80, died on Thursday, May 8, 2008 at home in Springfield. Known affectionately as "Mamaw," she was loved dearly and deeply by all. Mamaw ascribed to the philosophy that, "Life may not be the party we hoped for, but while we are here, we might as well dance." And dance she did Mary Kay was born February 16, 1928, the daughter of Orville and Bertha Jared Brock. She married Robert O. Hedges on August 3, 1968 in Indiana. Preceding her in death were her parents, Orville and Bertha; and her sisters, Louise and Martha. Mary Kay is survived by her husband, Robert; her daughters, Robbie (husband, Robert) Kuchar of Atlanta, GA, Sally (husband, Larry) Quinn of Springfield, and Terri (husband, William) Smith of Locust Grove, VA; her grandchildren, Amy (husband, Barry) Friedman, Jennifer Farrell, Molly (husband, Jeff) Fleischli, and Anthony (wife, Andrea) Quinn of Springfield, and Emily Kuchar of Atlanta, GA; and her great grandchildren, Madeline Farrell, and Jack and Ali Fleischli. Mamaw will be sadly missed by all. Her sense of humor, kindness, and unique style will always be remembered. Private family services will be held.
