

Mary Kay Miller, 61, of Springfield, died at 10:20 p.m. on Wednesday, January 21, 2015 at Memorial Medical Center. Mary Kay was born April 4, 1953 in Springfield, the daughter of Lawrence B. and Jean Clark Haensel. She married Thixton B. Miller on August 21, 1982 in Springfield. Mary Kay was employed as a secretary for several State government agencies until her retirement in 2010. She was known for her strong work ethic and attention to detail. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence B. Haensel and Jean Boehmer. She is survived by her husband, Thixton of Springfield; two sons, Jeremy P. Christy of Bloomington and Clark B. (wife, Holly) Miller of Pawnee; daughter, Jamie Kay (husband, Andrew) Roepe of Concordia, MO; six grandchildren, Laura, Isabella, and Clayton Miller, Britney Kay, Brandon, and Brody Roepe; first cousin, Nancy (husband, Dennis) Tucker of Springfield; and several other cousins. Graveside Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 27, 2015 at Camp Butler National Cemetery. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
