

Mary Ann Healy Kren, 64, of Dawson, died at 11:46 a.m. on Thursday, September 11, 2008 at Memorial Medical Center. Mary Ann was born on July 24, 1944 in Omaha, NE the daughter of Martin and Agatha Lally Healy. She married Robert Kren in 1967 and they later divorced. Mary Ann grew up in Wabasha, MN and graduated from the College of St. Catherine in St. Paul, MN before receiving her Masters degree from Sangamon State University (now the University of Illinois at Springfield). She retired in 2001 after 32 years with the Illinois Department of Children and Family Services where she held a number of administrative positions over the years and attained the title of deputy director under Jess McDonald. She was a former Milwaukee Braves Fan and later a passionate Cubs fans. She enjoyed watching all sports, using the computer, and reading. Mary Ann is survived by her son Martin William Kren of Dawson; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 15, 2008 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 16, 2008 at St. James Catholic Church, 112 N. 6th St., Riverton with Father Tony Schmidt. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
