Mary Majewski

Mary Majewski, 93, of Springfield, died at 2:00 a.m. on Monday, June 1, 2015, at Brighton Gardens in St. Charles, IL. Mary was born November 20, 1921, in Toluca, IL, the daughter of Matt and Katie Stimac Pavletich. She married John Edward Majewski on October 5, 1946, in Springfield; he preceded her in death on August 12, 2003. Mary graduated from Feitshans High School and was employed as a banquet waitress for the Holiday Inn East for many years. Prior to this, she worked at Knights of Columbus, Sangamo Electric, and Chapman Cleaners in Springfield and U.S. Rubber in Mishwauka, IN. She was a member of Christ the King Parish and the church's Legion of Mary. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Edward Majewski; and five brothers, John, Joe, Nick, Matt, and Tom Pavletich. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (husband, William) Brockschmidt of Springfield, Judy Majewski (husband, Greg Bock) of St. Charles, IL, Christine (husband, Doug) Sundeen of Rockford, and Deanna Majewski of Santa Monica, CA; five grandchildren, Kevin and Scott Bock, Aaron Brockschmidt, Stephanie (husband, Kevin) Saberre, and Andrew Sundeen; one great-grandson, Trey Saberre; siblings, Bertha Burt of Pawnee, Kathy Murphy of Virden, and Elsie (husband, Carl) Venvertloh of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Visitation: The immediate family will receive relatives and friends from 9:30 to 11:15 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Christ the King Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2015 at Christ the King, with Rev. Msgr. David S. Lantz, celebrant. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
