Mary E. Moore

Mary was born on February 28, 1946, in Springfield, the daughter of Albert and Gladys (Lamb) Kickner. She married Richard Eugene Moore on October 16, 1976, at Berean Baptist Church in Springfield.

Mary graduated from Lanphier High School and worked as a transcriptionist for St. John’s Hospital. She was a member and church clerk of Grace Church for over 45 years where she also taught Sunday School. Mary enjoyed baking, especially cakes, crafting, and traveling. Above all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren.

Mary was preceded in death by her husband, and her parents.

She is survived by her son, Matthew Moore of Springfield; daughter, Amanda Burris of Springfield; grandchildren, Hailey Burris and Natalie Putnam, both of Springfield; sister, Doris (Ron) Perkins of Springfield; and niece, Jennifer (Jason) Sutherd and their children, Jay and Janie.

Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 21, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield, 900 S. Sixth St., Springfield.

Funeral Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 22, 2022, at Butler Funeral Home – Springfield with members of Grace Church officiating.

Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
