Mary Jeanette Moore

Mary Jeanette Moore, 87, of Springfield, died at 6:17 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. John's Hospice. Jeanette was born January 27, 1927 in Springfield, the daughter of Charles R. and Inez Leua Van Dorn Dickerson. She married Arthur "Bud" Moore on October 30, 1948 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on February 6, 2006. Jeanette graduated from Springfield High School in 1946 and went to work for First National Bank. She later worked for the State of Illinois until her retirement. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Louise de Marillac Society, and served as a den mother for 13 years. Jeanette enjoyed camping with Bud, going on cruises, loved being with her grandchildren, and was an avid solitaire player. She was also preceded in death by her parents and three grandsons, James, Michael and Jason Moore. She is survived by her four sons, Bill (wife, Gale) Moore of San Marcos, CA, Bob (wife, Helen) Moore of Normal, Jim (wife, Sofia) Moore of Idaho Falls, ID, and Tom Moore of Joliet; two daughters, Mary (husband, Greg) Curl and Ann (husband, Gary) Anderson, both of Springfield; "surrogate" daughter, Barbara Sullivan of Springfield; eleven grandchildren, Michelle Moore, Joe (wife, Kelly) Moore, Matt (wife, Kim) Moore, Staci (husband, Steve) Amy, Tanya Mitchell, Jessie Ann (husband, Cody) Jackson, Sara (husband, Shaun) Harness, Jessy (husband, Bryan) Zalewski, Adam Minder, Amy (husband, Joe) Schomer and Eric Moore; and eight great-grandchildren, Lexie, Ryan, Connor, Cooper, Hawk, Jace, Anastasia, and Paige. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, January 18, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Mass: 10 a.m. on Monday, January 19, 2015 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1345 N. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Steven Janoski, celebrant. Burial will follow at McKinnie Cemetery.
