

Mary E. Redpath, always known as “Betty”, departed this life on Saturday, October 19, 2013. She was born on July 25, 1925 to Ira and Bessie Grieme Haines. She was born in the Cotton Hill Township of Sangamon County.
Betty married Gerald Redpath Sr. on May 31, 1947 and he preceded her in death in December, 2003. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, Michael.
She is survived by her children; Gerald “Jerry” (wife Cindy) Redpath Jr., of Springfield, Patricia (husband Paul) Summer of Chatham, Sheila (husband Craig) Bowman of Owasso, OK, and Cheryl (companion Michael Milkoski) Redpath of Springfield. She adored her six grandchildren, her fifteen great grandchildren, and was looking forward to the birth of her first great-great grandchild to be born this winter. She is also survived by her siblings; Wilma Kerr of Texas, John Haines of Chatham, Robert Haines of Kansas, and Edith Sausaman of Springfield.
A die-hard St. Louis Cardinals fan, she could only smile when they were able to win the National League pennant on October 18th, but her heart was jumping for joy.
A memorial service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Bisch and Son Funeral Home 505 E. Allen with Rev. Vaughn Beeman officiating. Inurnment will immediately follow at the Vigal Cemetery near New City, IL.
