Dear Janet,

Your mother was my supervisor at IL Bell and the best one I had of the several after leaving for IL Bell in Joliet and later Southwestern Bell in St. Louis. She became a good friend and I felt honored that we stayed in contact through the years.

Last October we were hoping to meet for at least a brief visit at Ginny Barker's (a cashier when the three of us worked at IL Bell) nearby apartment but sadly your mother was not feeling well enough to join us.  

She will be fondly remembered as a very special person. May the thoughts and prayers of others help comfort you and your family in your loss.

Janet and Jennifer,
     My thoughts and prayers are with you as you grieve the loss of your mother and grandmother.  I have heard so many wonderful things about her and I wish that I had known her personally.
     Joann told me how courageously she dealt with her leukemia, and how lovingly you cared for her as her illness progressed. May you find comfort in knowing that you were there for her when she needed you most.

I am so sorry to hear of your mother's passing.  I always respected your mother, she hired me many years ago to work at Abraham Lincoln Medical Group.  May God comfort you now during this time of loss.

Janet, please know that we are thinking of you and your family in this time of loss.  I would like to share that I hold a special place in my heart for Mary.  It is such a rarity today to find such a strong individual that would not give into the conforms of day to day business politics.  She was a special woman that always said what she felt and acted on what she thought was right. A bulldog that would not back down and one we can all learn from.  She was respected and loved by many and will surely be missed.  We are glad to have had the opportunity to call her our friend.

Janet you have my sympathy. Your mother told you she did it her way and many of us followed that way to successful careers. She was the strongest woman I've met. Her footprint in life will be long lasting.

Janet, you probably don't remember me but your Mother was my supervisor when we both worked at Illinois Bell and I watched you grow up.  Always enjoyed having lunch with the telephone girls when I would be back in the area.  Your Mother was a special lady and I know you will miss her very much.  My sympathy to you and your family.

Janet and family.  We always enjoyed talkng to your parents and your Uncle Norm and his wife at church.  It is hard to believe that they are all gone. You were a very attentive daughter and did everything you could to help your mother.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

She never gave up whenever difficulties came her way she remained strong in her faith and committed to her Lord. Dear Janet and Jen:

My first memory of Mary was at her wedding. The war was over, Joe was home, my Dad was not home but at least in the United States again, and everyone was future planning. 

My mother decided I could have a new dress to wear to the wedding so we went clothes shopping. Amazed that there were all these dresses to be looked at and tried on, I fell in love with a black velvet one that had many little different color bows all over it.

Well, I couldn't have that one because it was black and you don't wear black to weddings. Or so I was told. But my grandmother prevailed arguing that Mary wouldn't care, she'd only see the many-colored bows and not think about the black velvet. So I got the black dress and even black patent leather shoes to wear with it.

That was the first time I ever thought that Mary was a miracle in our family. There were many, many times after that. I'll certainly miss her.
