Mary Lou Saucier

Mary Lou Saucier, 74, of Springfield, died at 2:04 p.m. on Sunday, July 09, 2006 at her residence. Mary was born on August 25, 1931 in Springfield the daughter of Marshall and Mary Helen Dethridge Dirksen. She married William A. Saucier in 1951 in Springfield; he preceded her in death on April 28, 2006. A very devout and faithful Catholic; Mary was devoted to the Virgin Mary. She said a Rosary every evening and attended mass regularly. She belonged to a prayer group in Danville with her dearest friends for many years. She loved cats and flowers and enjoyed cooking. Mary was a great homemaker and a wonderful mother and grandmother. She was a sweet, warm and wonderful lady, who will be remembered for her open and gentle heart. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother: Marshall “Mike” Dirksen of Springfield, IL. She is survived by; two sons: William (wife, Patty Kervin) Saucier of Springfield and Marty (wife, Julie) Saucier of Statesboro, GA; two daughters: M. Kathleen Saucier of Catlin and Patti Ryan of Danville; five grandchildren: Jay Patrick Ryan, Kayley Marie Ryan, Jake William Ryan, Joseph Thomas Saucier and Anne Kerin Bishoff; several nieces and nephews including: Tweety, Annie, Mike and Tom Halpin Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will commence with the reciting of the Rosary at 4:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 14, 2006 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, 524 E. Lawrence Ave., Springfield, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola celebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made for Masses to donor’s choice of parish, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception School, 815 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703 or Holy Family Catholic School, 502 E.
