

Maxine Eleanor Salefski, 94, of Springfield, passed away on June 2, 2022 at her residence. She was born on July 23, 1927 in St. Louis, Missouri to Richard J. Dutour and Amy E. Schreiber. Maxine married Robert H. “Bosco” Salefski on July 15, 1950 in Decatur, Illinois and he preceded her in death on June 21, 2012.
Mrs. Salefski is survived by her children: Lynne Allen of Springfield, Bill (Olena Feshovets) Salefski of Lviv, Ukrane and Julie (Guy) Blaszak of Springfield, eight grandchildren: Peter (Kati) Salefski, Meredith (Scott) Ponce, John (Jennifer) Allen, Jaclyn Allen, Michael (Sara Marquess) Allen, August Blaszak, Elsa Blaszak and Yeremia Salefski, seven great-grandchildren: Brayden and Hudson Allen, Stella Marquess, Jack and Piper Allen and Max and Owen Salefski and her daughter-in-law Mary Ann Salefski. She was preceded in death by one son Robert Richard Salefski and one brother William Dutour.
Maxine worked as a registered nurse for many years with Pediatrician Dr. Mauro. She enjoyed vacationing with her husband Bosco and spending time at the Springfield Elks Lodge #158, the Ski and Boat Club and Island Bay Yacht Club. She treasured her time spent with family and friends.
A Memorial Mass will take place at 11 a.m. on Saturday July 23, 2022 at the Church of the Little Flower, 800 Adlai Stevenson Dr, Springfield, IL 62703. The family will greet friends from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
A private graveside service will be held at Oak Ridge Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Little Flower and please visit the online “Life Remembered Story” at www.bischfuneralhomewest.com.
