Melvin E. Pratt, Jr., 47, of Springfield passed away at 12:10 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2002 at St. John’s Hospital. Melvin was born September 28, 1955 the son of Melvin and Augusta V. Lawson Pratt in Springfield. He had worked for Capitol Waste. He was preceded in death by a brother Dennis Ray Pratt on February 13, 2000. He is survived by his parents: Melvin and Augusta Pratt, Sr. of Springfield; three brothers: Terry Lee Pratt of Jefferson City, Mo. and David Johnson of Springfield and Gary Pratt of St. Cloud, FL.; two sisters: Connie Sue Pratt Loggins of Petersburg and Sherry White of Granite City; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 12-1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 25, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
