Michael G. Dees

Michael G. Dees, 60, of Sherman, passed away on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at his residence. Michael was born on February 26, 1957 in Springfield, the son of Wesley J. Jr. and Beverly Ann Cote Dees. Michael was a 1975 graduate of Williamsville High School. He was currently employed with MD Designs for over 38 years and Menards for the past 3 years. Michael was a former fire fighter for the Sherman Fire Department. Michael enjoyed golf, bowling, and darts. He coordinated many softball leagues and was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Susan Dees; and his brother, Louis "Bud" Dees. He is survived by his siblings, Annie Sanzenbacher of Springfield, Tracey Dees of Andrew, and Patrick (Angela) Dees of Williamsville; nieces and nephews, Joseph (Erin) Sanzenbacher, David Sanzenbacher, Jesse Dees, Samantha (Jared) Washko, Sydney Dees, and Skylar Dees; his great-nephew, Caden Sanzenbacher; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and his beloved dog, Moon. Funeral Ceremony and Visitation: 4:00 p.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Family will receive friends following the ceremony until 7:00 p.m. Since Mike was an avid sports fan, the family invites all to wear their favorite sports attire. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Private family burial will be held at a later date at Wolf Creek Cemetery.
