Michael S. Meyer

Michael S. Meyer, 30, of Springfield, died at 3:14 p.m. on Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Memorial Medical Center. Michael was born April 29, 1983 in Springfield, the son of Patricia Meyer. Michael attended Lanphier High School. He was a graduate of the United States Army Airborne and Army Air Assault School and served in the Army National Guard. He was a member of the American Legion Post # 32 and enjoyed playing with his son, nieces, and nephews, and was an avid New York Yankees fan. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Wilma Meyer and an uncle, John Meyer. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Meyer of Springfield; son, Jackson Knox-Meyer of Rochester; siblings, Amy (Jamie) Kavanagh of Springfield, Stacey (Ray) Bishop of Sherman, Jaela (fianc, Butch) Newbold of Auburn, Joshua (fiance, Samantha) Meyer of Sherman, and John Meyer of Springfield; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following visitation. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 7:00 p.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Memorial Mass: 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at St. Aloysius Catholic Church, 2119 N. 20th St., Springfield with Rev.
