Michael A. Nelle

Michael A. Nelle, 51, of Minier, formerly of Springfield, died in Jacksonville on Monday, December 27, 2010. Michael was born on January 21, 1959 in Springfield, the son of Richard S. Nelle and Monita E. O'Neill Nelle. Michael graduated from Griffin High School and attended Illinois State University before beginning his career in sales. He loved music, watching sports, playing golf and bicycling. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard S. Nelle and brother, Donald Nelle. He is survived by two daughters, Melissa (Kevin Rodgers) Nelle of Washington, MO and Rachael Nelle of Ballwin, MO; mother, Monita Nelle of Springfield; siblings, Dick (Bev) Nelle of New Berlin, Jan (Alice) Nelle of Springfield, Pat (Joyce) Nelle of Huntsville, AR, Marianne (Leo) Lombari of Huntsville, AR, and Kathleen Nelle Davis of West Fork, AR; companion, Kathy Roberts of Minier; step-children, Shelley (sons, Lincoln and Jayce), Allison and Nicholas Bahan, all of St. Louis, MO; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral ceremony will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 2, 2011 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, with Rev. Robert Jallas, officiant. A visitation will take place following the ceremony from approximately 4:45 until 7:00 p.m. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies.
