Michael Joseph Strayer

Michael Joseph Strayer, 41, of Edinburg, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2002 in Ironton, Ohio. Michael was born November 21, 1960 the son of William H. and Cassandra Sue White Strayer, Sr. in Springfield. He married Lori Pietrzak November 14, 1981 at Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Michael was employed as a truck driver for 20 years, most recently with Shirley Trucking Company of Chatham. He was a member of Teamsters Local 916. He enjoyed wood working, fishing and golfing. He loved his kids and enjoyed all children. He is survived by his wife: Lori Strayer of Edinburg; his mother: Suzie (husband, Tom) Weiss of Springfield; father: William Strayer Sr. of Houston, TX; three children: Nichole Strayer, Nathan Strayer and Josh Ceperich all of Edinburg; two brothers: William (wife, Valerie) Strayer Jr., Robie Strayer both of Springfield; grandparents: Warren and Virginia White of Taylorville; one aunt; two uncles, several nieces and nephews and many friends. Friends may call at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home from 4-8:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2002 with the Sangamon County Sheriff Honor Guard posting Honor Guard for the visitation. Funeral Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, March 23, 2002 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Reverend Craig Scott officiating. Burial will follow in Edinburg Cemetery in Edinburg.
