Michael Julian Terril

Mike was born November 5, 1948, in Springfield, the son of Harry and Edith Butler Terril. He married Sue Costa on December 22, 1975, in Kissimmee, FL.

Mike was a 1966 graduate of Griffin High School and received his bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University. He was a long-time member and past manager of Springfield Surf Club. Mike enjoyed spending time with his family, watching sports, civil war history, playing cards, and researching family ancestry.

He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Michael Andrew Terril.

Mike is survived by his wife, Sue Terril of Springfield; children, Caryn (Jay) Ingle of Spring Hill, FL, Michelle (Rob Watt) Terril of Chicago, and Michael J. Terril, Jr. of Springfield; grandson, Ben Ingle; siblings, Suzanne (Troy) DeLay of Jacksonville, IL, Terry Terril of Tampa, FL, Tom (Lisa Roof) Terril of Port St. Lucie, FL, Joe (Leslie) Terril Tampa, FL, and Trish Terril of Port St. Lucie, FL; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and three grand-cats.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.

Eulogy and Memorial Gathering: Family Eulogy will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 30, 2021, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Memorial Gathering will follow until 7:00 p.m. Due to COVID restrictions, there will be limited capacity.
