Mike Heminghous

Michael E. Heminghous, 56, of Port Wentworth, GA, formerly of Springfield, passed away on Friday, April 21, 2017 at Memorial Health Center in Savannah, GA. Mike was born October 20, 1960 in Charleston, IL, the son of Victor E. and Sandra Campbell Heminghous. He married Nancy Deneau on May 12, 2016 in Springfield. Mike graduated from Sacred Heart-Griffin and attended Lincoln Land Community College. He worked as a mechanic for Charlie Satlers Cadillac and also for Landmark Cadillac. Mike was a resident of Springfield his entire life up until November 2016 when he moved to Port Wentworth, GA. He was a member of Flatlanders Riding Club and Honda Chopper Club and loved working on and riding motorcycles. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, drag racing, exploring historical sites and events, and going to the beach. Mike was preceded in death by his father, Victor E. Heminghous. He is survived by his wife, Nancy Heminghous of Port Wentworth, GA; mother, Sandra Heminghous of Springfield, IL; son, Chris (fiance, Sam) Heminghous of Springfield, IL; step-son, Andrew Francois of Atlanta, GA; step-daughters, Jessica Francois of Dixon, IL and Valarie (Aaron) Wiles of Pooler, GA; grandson, Johnathan Heminghous of Springfield, IL; step-grandsons, Collin Francois, Zachary Johnson and Wesley Johnson, all of Dixon, IL; step-granddaughters, Alexandra and Brooke Wiles of Pooler, GA; brothers, Mark (Jeri) Heminghous of Colorado and Charles (Jessica) Heminghous of Springfield; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; and his beloved dog, Mikayla. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, April 28, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 29, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Joseph Ring officiating. Burial will be held at Old Salem Cemetery with a motorcycle procession to the cemetery, rain or shine. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donors choice.
