

Miriam C. Levine, 62, of Glenarm, died at 2:52 p.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2007 at St. John’s Hospital. Miriam was born December 2, 1944 in Springfield, the daughter of Hulbert A. and Barbara Laird Cox. Miriam went to Tipton High School in Tipton, IN. She received her Bachelors in Sociology from the University of Kentucky and her Masters in Counseling from the University of Missouri. Miriam worked for the State of Illinois in the Department of Human Services as a Disability Claims Adjudicator from 1982 until her retirement in 2003. Miriam served as a precinct committeewoman in Ball Township for ten years. She enjoyed writing, particularly about her family history; reading; horses; and her cat and dog. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons: Daniel (wife, Karen) Levine of Pawnee and Michael Levine of Allston, MA; one grandson: Benjamin Carroll Levine of Pawnee; one brother: Thomas (wife, Dannis) Cox of Anderson, SC and two nephews. A Private Graveside Ceremony will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at Stout Cemetery with Rabbi Barry Marks officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Arthritis Foundation, Central Illinois Chapter, 2621 N. Knoxville, Peoria, IL 61604. The family of Miriam C.
