

Nancy Marie Sprous, 54, of Springfield, died at 6:25 p.m. on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at Memorial Medical Center. Nancy was born January 15, 1958 in Sikeston, MO, the daughter of William and Emma Harden Sweet. She married Ernest "Pete" Sprous on July 3, 1977 in St. Louis, MO. Nancy volunteered at Kumler Ministries and was named volunteer of the year. She loved animals, crocheting, reading, and loved to shop. She was an excellent cook and housekeeper. Nancy also was known as a great singer. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her husband, Ernest of Springfield; children, Shonna Sprous and Lisa (Kevin) Lehman, both of Springfield, Kenneth Sprous of OK, James (Vernah) Sprous of TX, and Sylva (Michael) Hendrix of Desoto, MO; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Sheila (Dayton) Leazenby of Springfield. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 30, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Monday, December 31, 2012 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Tucker officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
