Nancy Kathryn Staber

She was born on November 24, 1955, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Walter H. and Harriet (Miller) Staber.

Nancy graduated from Sacred Heart Academy in 1974, attended Springfield College, and earned her bachelor’s degree from Eastern Illinois University. She went on to proudly serve her country and worked for the Illinois Army National Guard. After retiring, Nancy then worked for District #186 and Horace Mann Insurance. She was a faithful member of St. Cabrini Catholic Church. Nancy loved dogs and cats and enjoyed traveling. She was a loyal friend who cherished her friendships from her childhood friends, classmates, her IL Army NG retirees, and her newest girlfriends group of lunch buddies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, John and Dan Staber.

Nancy is survived by one great-nephew; one great-niece; Aunt Barb Harvey; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends; and two great-nephews.

Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center, prior to services.

Private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Frances Cabrini Church. Private burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, with military honors provided.
