

Nancy Arlene Cleghorn Thompson, 56, of Springfield, died at 8:06 p.m. on Sunday, August 31, 2014 at her home. Nancy was born September 29, 1957 in Paris, the daughter of Donald and Beverly Reedy Cleghorn. She married David L. Thompson on December 20, 1985 in Jacksonville. Nancy Arlene Cleghorn Thompson left her loving husband David who thought he loved her more than anyone, but Jesus loved her even more. She was a payroll clerk for McGuar Accounting. She is a Graduate of Robert Morris College. She had perfect attendance and completed her four years in two years and graduated with Alpha Beta Gamma Honors. She was a member of Kumler United Methodist Church and a member of the mission society. She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Cleghorn, Sr.; and one sister, Baby Girl Cleghorn. She is survived by her husband, David L. Thompson; three children, Theresa (husband, Jack) Smith of Lehigh Acres, FL, Bill (partner, Kris) Thompson of Springfield, and Tamara (husband, Rodney) Miller of Auburn; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; seven siblings, Peggy (husband, Dan) Prillaman of Bloomington, Lorey (husband, Dennis) Byrne of Chestnut, Tom Cleghorn of Cedar Rapids, IA, Frances Jane (husband, James) Sorgea of Collinsville, Wesley (wife, Patty) Cleghorn of Bicknell, IN, Beverly Jean (husband, James) Mills of St. Charles, MO, and Billy Joe (wife, Jennifer) Cleghorn of Anna; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4 7 p.m. on Sunday, September 7, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 9:30 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler, with Rev. Robert Freeman officiating. Burial will follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
