Neal A. Patterson

Neal A. Patterson, 45, of Springfield, passed away at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at his residence. Neal was born on January 26, 1970 in Jackson, TN, the son of Fred M. and Nancy C. (Barger) Patterson. He married Stephanie Nation on May 10, 1991 in Springfield. Neal attended New Berlin High School. He was employed by Patterson Drywall. Neal was a great people person with a wonderful sense of humor. He was exceptionally passionate about cooking and grilling, especially for his family. Neal's favorite place to hang out was The Dog Pound. He was preceded in death by his biological father, Hugh Mac Gooch and his grandparents. He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Patterson of Springfield; one son, Shawn Patterson of Springfield; three daughters, Kellsie (companion, Jericho) Patterson, Abigayle (companion, Tomi) Patterson, and Bayleigh Patterson, all of Springfield; extended children, Christopher and William Vincent, Devin Beck, and Rachel Good, all of Springfield; his parents, Nancy and Fred Patterson of Springfield; four siblings, Michael (wife, Karen) Patterson, Judy (husband, Denny) Williamson, both of New Berlin, Jeff (wife, Brenda) Patterson of Springfield, and Greg Patterson of Loami; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Ceremony at 12:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.
