

Nelle Harrison Clark was born March 23, 1917 in Westoughton, Lancaster, England. She immigrated to the United States with her mother, Ellen and 2 brothers, Fred and Peter on the ship, the Bohemian, to the port of Boston, MA on December 15, 1919. From there her family later settled in the Kincaid-Taylorville area, where her father, John Harrison, was a coal miner.
In 1936 she and Andrew "Packy" Clark were married at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Taylorville, IL. They farmed in the Pawnee area for the next 40 years before moving to Springfield. Nelle was active in St. Mary's Catholic Church in Pawnee and was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church in Springfield. Nelle was a devoted mother and grandmother, who enjoyed cooking, sewing, ceramics, gardening, reading, and traveling.
Nelle was preceded in death by her husband, Packy in 1984; three brothers, Fred, Peter, and Allen Harrison; sister, Madeline Renner; son, Patrick L. Clark.
She is survived by her three sons, John B. (Debbie) Clark and Alan (Sue) Clark, both of Springfield, and Mike (JoAnn) Clark of Round Rock, TX; one daughter, Judy (Tom) Millburg of Cumming, GA; daughter-in-law, Kathy Clark of Brighton, IL; 14 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; several great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation: Family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Monday, December 9, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Rev. Jeff Grant officiating.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Pawnee.
