Nina was born on January 28, 1958, in California, the daughter of George and Patsy Lee Crain Bechtel. She married David Montgomery on July 14, 1984, in Springfield.
Nina graduated from Athens High School and worked as the General Manager at Dollar General. She then worked at Wal Mart and retired from there in 2011. Nina enjoyed painting, reading, spending time with her cats and her family, and visiting thrift stores. She loved playing penny machines at casinos and visiting Branson, MO.
Nina was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Hunter Lee Stroisch; brother, George L. Bechtel, Jr.; sister, Helen Nina Bechtel; and beloved dog, Tuffy.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years, David; daughters, Kimberly (Evan) Stroisch of Greenview, Heather (Jermaine) Thomas of Springfield, and Brandy (Henry) Taylor of Springfield; 25 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers, Aaron (Kim) Bechtel of Sherman, and Cloyd Bechtel of Troy; sister, Wanda (Richard) Wolf of Petersburg; and several nieces and nephews.
Private family services will be held.
