

Nishiekah Hiroshima Shephard, 24, of Springfield, passed away at 3:13 a.m. on Monday, October 13, 2014 at Memorial Medical Center. Nishiekah was born July 22, 1990 in Springfield, the daughter of Toshiko Shephard and Lee Crumb. Nishiekah was a graduate of Lanphier High School. She attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, IL, after which she completed Job Corps in 2012. She was formerly employed by Sparc and was most recently employed at the Crown Plaza Hotel. Nishiekah was a fun person who loved basketball and was named All Conference Central State 8. She also enjoyed fashion and spending time with friends. She was preceded in death by her grandfather, James Cannon; and three uncles, James and Juan Shephard and Eddie Crumb. She is survived by her mother, Toshiko Shephard and father, Lee Crumb of Springfield; ten siblings, Ishami Shephard, Brett Crumb-Long, Brad Smith, Lee Crumb, Jr., Leandrew Letz and Taylor Roberts, Nisila Shephard-Crumb, Brianna Crumb, Alexandria Guinan, Ciara Lewis, ; grandmother, Winda Shephard; grandmother, Josephine Stinson; grandfather, Lee Stinson; ten aunts and uncles, Edward Shephard, Kwai (wife, Martina) Shephard, Thomas (wife, Demetria) Shephard, Aldo Shephard, Pablo Shephard, Ahmad Shephard, and Brett Cole; Paula Shephard, Latisha Stinson, and Pearlene Allen; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park.
