Norman Mack

Norman Mack, 81, of Springfield, passed away at 12:31 a.m. on Monday, August 28, 2017 at St. Johns Hospital. Norm was born March 1, 1936 in Springfield, the son of Ernie and Helen McDonough Mack. He married Mary L. Thomas on August 17, 1957 in Springfield, and celebrated 60 years of marriage this year. Norm was a graduate of Athens High School. He was the President of Mack & Riggle for nearly 50 years. Norm was also the President of A-C Distributing for 23 years. He was a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish and the Island Bay Yacht Club. He loved golfing and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal Fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Mary Mack of Springfield; three sons, Stephen (wife, Karen) Mack of Divernon, Jeffrey Mack (partner, John McIntyre) of Greenview; Greg (wife, Allyson) Mack of Springfield; granddaughter, Elizabeth Mack of Springfield; two sisters, Linda Mack (husband, John Kauffman) of Naples, FL, and Peg VanderHeiden of Chatham; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th Street, Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service. Funeral Mass: 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 1, 2017 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 1725 S. Walnut St., Springfield, with Rev.
