

Patricia A. Cunningham, 87, of Springfield, died at 8:26 p.m. on Monday, July 14, 2014 at St. John's Hospice. Patricia was born on October 11, 1926 in Springfield, the daughter of Thomas and Naoma Huff Heavner. She married James R. Fitzpatrick and he preceded her in death. She later met and married George Cunningham on April 8, 1948 at St. Agnes Catholic Church in Springfield; he preceded her in death in 1991. Patricia was a graduate of Springfield High School in 1944 and was employed for 38 years with the Sheet Metal Workers Union, most recently as Assistant Manager. She was a member of Church of the Little Flower and enjoyed reading, cooking and travelling. She was also preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her daughter, Debbie (husband, Ed) Herter of Springfield; three grandchildren, Todd (wife, Julie) Herter and Amy (husband, Steve) Dumonceaux, both of Springfield, and Tim (wife, Stacey) Herter of Coto De Caza, CA; and eight great-grandchildren, Megan, Alex, Jillian, Peri, Madison, Tyler, Anthony, and Braydon. Cremation will be accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center following ceremonies. Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until the time of the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield with Dr. Joseph H. Eby officiating. Burial will follow at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
