Patricia J. Dopp

Patricia J. Dopp, 89, of Springfield, passed away on March 8, 2023 at her residence. She was born on May 7, 1933 in Springfield to John Doolin and Martha Welsh. Patricia married Barry Dopp on February 3, 1979 in Springfield, IL and he survives. Mrs. Dopp is survived by her children Eric Netznik and Jill Netznik both of Springfield, eight grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son Kurt Netznik. Patricia graduated from Lanphier High School where she sang soprano in the school choir. She worked for Illinois Bell Telephone Company and was picked to be Governor Adlai Stevenson’s in house operator and spoke with President Truman on several occasions. Patricia then worked as a medical secretary for over twenty years. She was a wonderful singer who enjoyed crocheting, needle point and caring for her grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Thursday March 16, 2023 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2750 East Sangamon Avenue, with burial to follow at Camp Butler National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11:00am until the time of funeral service Thursday at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
