Patricia "Patty" Louise Gomora

She was born on March 13, 1956, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Charles and Lois (Kidd) Stanton.

Patricia was a graduate of Lanphier High School and a lifelong member of the Springfield community. She worked as a manager for Sun Rooms Tanning for 15 years until retiring in 2002.

Patricia never met a stranger, was very beautiful, and had a loving, caring spirit. She deeply loved horses and cherished time with her children and grandchildren. In her free time, she enjoyed collecting antiques, watching racing, and surrounding herself with the beauty of plants, flowers, and butterflies.

She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Ronnie Stanton and Charles “Sonny” Stanton, Jr., Carolyn Sheppard; sister in laws, Barb Stanton and Connie Stanton; and brother in laws, Glen Jessup and Greg Zeller.

Patricia is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Steve J. (Missy) Sheppard, Jr., Jean (Roger) Broaddus, and Amy Beadle; grandchildren, Brandon (Mikala) Sheppard, Stephen White, Timothy Beadle, Brandi (Ethan) Fatheree, and Jordan Broaddus; great grandchildren, Jase, Addison, and Baylor Sheppard; and siblings, Beverly Jessup, Sandy (Eddie) Davis, William Stanton, Janice (Allen) Turley, Brenda Zellers, and Bobby (June) Stanton.

Visitation & Funeral Services: The family will receive friends from 11:00 am-1:45 pm, on Monday March 23, 2026, at Butler Funeral Home-Springfield, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield, IL 62703. The Ceremony will take place at 2:00 pm with Celebrant, Judy Woerner officiating.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Roselawn Memorial Park, 1735 Camp Butler Rd., Springfield, IL 62707.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or the American Legion Post 32.
