

Patricia “Pat” L. O’Brien, 70, of Springfield died at 1:10 a.m. Saturday, November 6, 2004 at St. John’s Hospital. Pat was born January 15, 1934 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Ethel O’Malia Puckett. She had been employed as a stewardess for American Airlines for five years, Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria for ten years in the engineering department and retired on June 30, 1996 from the State of Illinois where she was supervisor of the Committee Clerks for the House of Representatives in Springfield for fifteen years. She was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by two sons: Michael, Matthew (wife, Jennifer) O’Brien, both of Springfield, two daughters: Mary (husband, Richard) Washelesky of Northbrook, Michelle “Mickey” (husband, Charlie) Middleton of San Diego, CA, seven grandchildren; Grady, Nicole, Mary Kate, Maggie, Nicholas, Eilish, Ronan, sister: Mary Ann Keeley of Tulsa, OK and seven nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4:30 to 7:30 pm, Tuesday, November 9, 2004 at Kirlin-Egan and Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St. Springfield. The visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:30 pm. Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola, celebrant. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in honor of Grady O’Brien to United Cerebral Palsy of Land of Lincoln 130 N. 16th St. Springfield, IL 62701. The family of Patricia “Pat” L.
