

Patrick D. Rotherham, 56, of Springfield, died at 4:35 p.m. on Friday, August 4, 2006. Patrick was born June 23, 1950 in Springfield the son of John B. and Jean Ryan Rotherham. Mr. Rotherham was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a former Board Member of the Department of Professional Regulation, and was the owner of Romco Alarm Company for twenty-five years. Patrick was a warm, caring man. He was very active in the community. He enjoyed bass fishing, reading, traveling, learning about the Civil War and especially his family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Joseph Rotherham. He is survived by: Diane Rotherham, to whom he was married for twenty-seven years; one son: Patrick M. (wife, Pam) Rotherham of Springfield; three daughters: Carrie (husband, Jeffrey) Michel, and Sarah Jean Rotherham both of Springfield, and Vicki Jean (husband, John) Rotherham-Bledsoe of TN; five grandchildren: Patrick M. and Claire Rotherham, Madison Michel, and Stephen and Jagger Bledsoe; one brother: John D. (wife, Linda) Rotherham of Springfield; four sisters: Charlotte (husband, Patrick) O’Brien of Portland, OR, Mary Smalley of St. Louis, MO, Jeanne Skube, and Denise (husband, Terry) Drennan both of Springfield; and many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. They will then process to Camp Butler National Cemetery for a 2:00 p.m. Graveside Service with Rev. Msgr. John Ossola officiating. The Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County will conduct military honors. The family of Patrick D. Rotherham is being served by Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield.
