Patrick R. "Pat" Schaddel

Patrick R. Schaddel, 48, of Springfield, died at 7:48 p.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Pat was born June 7, 1966 in Springfield, the son of Richard and Doris Ryan Schaddel. He married Rachel K. White on January 31, 2003 at the Crowne Plaza. Pat was a member of Christ the King in Springfield. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Schaddel. He is survived by his wife, Rachel Schaddel of Springfield; one son, Jacob Schaddel of Springfield; two daughters, Emma and Laurel Schaddel, both of Springfield; his mother, Doris Schaddel of Springfield; five brothers, Terry (wife, Sherry) of Springfield, Tom (wife, Donna) of Petersburg, Jim (wife, Marina) of Chicago, Dan of Springfield, and Bill of Gramby, CO. Pat graduated from Griffin High School in 1984 and DePaul University in 1991 with a bachelor's degree in Commerce. He was employed with Brandt Consolidated for 18 years. Pat was a member on the board of directors for the American Red Cross, a member of Knights of Columbus Council 364, and a member of the Illinois Agriculture Leadership Foundation. He also served on the Public Policy Committee of the Agriculture Retailers Association. Pat enjoyed riding motorcycles, coaching his children's basketball and baseball teams, and going on mission trips with his children. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at Christ the King, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield. Visitation will begin with a prayer service at 4:00 p.m. Concelebrated Funeral Mass: 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at Christ the King with Rev. Joseph Ring, celebrant and Rev. Robert Jallas, concelebrant. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
