She was born on October 31, 1936, in Decatur, IL, the daughter of Herbert L. and Etta Marie (Ernst) Evans. Patsy married William “Bill” A. Morenz on July 5, 1958, in Decatur.
Patsy graduated from Decatur High School and earned her bachelor’s degree in music education from Millikin University. She went on to work in the payroll department at Illinois Power, from which she retired in 1997. Patsy was a member of Springfield Bible Church, where she was the leader of bible study fellowship. She enjoyed singing, quilting, and sowing, and loved birds and flowers.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pasty is survived by her husband, Bill Morenz of Springfield; son, Tim (Angie) Morenz of Carlinville, IL; grandchildren, Brooke O. and Sydney N. Morenz; and sister, Darlene Smith Mohammed of Decatur.
Visitation and Funeral Ceremony: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Springfield Bible Church, 2060 Westchester Blvd., Springfield, followed by the Ceremony at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor John Standard officiating.
Graveside Ceremony: 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 11, 2025, at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
