

Paul was born on July 24, 1941 in Springfield, the son of Paul J. Sabo, Sr. and Ruby Irene Hull Sabo. He married Lorraine Carroll on December 1, 1962 at Southside Church of the Nazarene.
Paul attended Pleasant Plains High School. He served in Germany with the United States Army from 1959-1962. He was employed as a truck driver for Mid-State Meats until his retirement. Paul was a loving husband and loved his family. He often enjoyed a spirited game of horseshoes or golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Dayne Thomas Sabo; and one brother, Richard Sabo.
He is survived by his wife, Lorraine Sabo of Springfield; three children, Cynthia (Steve) Bomke of Springfield, Paul (Connie) Sabo III of Pawnee, and Tom (Lori) Sabo of Pleasant Plains; six grandchildren, Chase (Rachel) Bomke, Erica (Mike) Bartlett, P.J. Sabo IV, Maggie Sabo, Dayne (preceded) and Summer Sabo; five great-grandchildren, Ben, Anthony, Jett, Zoey, and Valerie; one brother, Chester (Rita) Sabo of Pleasant Plains; sister-in-law, Pat Sabo (Richard-preceded); several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and best friend, Bill (Joan) Spencer.
Cremation will be provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center prior to ceremonies.
Graveside Ceremony: 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at Salisbury Cemetery with brother-in-law, Rev. Edwin Sprinkle officiating. Military honors will be provided by the Interveterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County and the Department of Defense.
