Pauline M. Blankenship

Pauline M. Blankenship, 40, of Waverly, died at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, April 13, 2007 in Waverly. Pauline was born on January 6, 1967 in Tucson, Arizona the daughter of Jonathan and Mary Jane Johnston Romero, Sr. She married Brad Blankenship on June 22, 1984 in Tucson, Arizona. Raised in Tucson, she belonged to the 4-H Club as a youth and attended Marana High School. A member of the New Berlin community for seven years; she worked in the retail industry, most recently at the Travel Plaza in New Berlin and also Sam’s Club in Springfield. She also spent time serving as a caregiver to the elderly and was a volunteer for the Festival of Trees. In her spare time she pursued her favorite hobby – Shopping! Pauline was a natural born caregiver who put everyone else first. She lived for her children and her family. She was an excellent mother, wife, daughter, sister and friend. She was very proud of her son Brad for graduating from the United States Army and looking forward to the graduations of her daughter Ashley from nursing school, daughter Melissa from Lincoln Land Community College and son James from Waverly High School. Pauline’s wonderful spirit and radiant smile will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched. She was preceded in death by one cousin: Alegra Schied in 2003. She is survived by her husband, Brad Blankenship of Waverly; two sons: Brad (wife, Rebecca) Blankenship of Colorado Springs, CO and James Blankenship of Waverly; two daughters: Ashley Blankenship of Springfield and Melissa Blankenship of Waverly; one granddaughter: Kellie Elise Blankenship; her parents: Jonathan and Mary Jane Romero of Marana, AZ; one brother: Jonathan Romero, Jr. of Marana, AZ; two sisters: Anna (husband, Michael) Griffith and Christy (husband, Rod) Fitzsimmons all of Marana, AZ and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at McCullough-Delaney and Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 19, 2007 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 306 E. Birch St., New Berlin, with Rev. Msgr. John R. Ossola celebrant.
