Peggy J. Evans

Peggy was born on June 28, 1929, in Springfield, the daughter of Elmer and Ruth (Treece) Campbell, Sr. She married Wilbur “Bill” Evans in 1948; he preceded her in death on June 19, 2001.

Peggy graduated from Springfield High School. She was a devoted wife and mother and was happy to be a stay-at-home mom. She loved her children and enjoyed spending time with her family. Peggy also enjoyed roller-skating, music, and dancing.

She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Elmer, Dick, Lonnie, and Robert “Bob” Campbell.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Joan) Evans of Springfield; daughters, JoAnn Durbin of Springfield and Vickie Evans of Riverton; six grandchildren, Chuck, Missy, Valarie, Monica, Brian, and Dylan; eight great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Cremation was provided by Butler Cremation Tribute Center.

A private graveside ceremony will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.

The family is being served by Boardman-Smith Funeral Home, 800 S. Grand Ave. West, Springfield.
