Peggy Ann Smith, 79, of Edinburg, formerly of Springfield, passed away on October 14, 2025 at her residence. She was born on August 13, 1946 in Springfield to Richard A. Willhoit and Virginia L. Hampton Willhoit. Peggy married Mason L. Smith on March 20, 1966 and he preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Smith is survived by two daughters: Leigh (Ralph) Irons of Springfield and Cari (Michael Peacock) Smith of Edinburg, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son Robert Smith.
Peggy worked as a nurse at Memorial Medical Center and a cook at Christian Elementary School and Christian Day Care Center. She was a member of Flower City Chapter OES #152 and Southside Christian Church.
Cremation rites were accorded. A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm on November 6, 2025 at Camp Butler National Cemetery.
