

Philip Pennington, 67, of Springfield, died at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, January 28, 2006 at St. John's Hospice. Philip was born August 18, 1938 in Denver, CO the son of Clarence and Margaret Napier Pennington. He married Patricia Green on December 10, 1966 in Hillsboro, IL. Mr. Pennington was the owner and operator of Portable Sanitation Systems and Ray’s Septic Tank Service in Springfield for 37 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife: Patricia Pennington of Springfield; two daughters: Dawn (husband, Bart) Boyer of Auburn and Ginger (husband, Neil) Das Gupta of North Barrington, IL; three grandchildren: Garett and Cameron Boyer of Auburn and Olivia Das Gupta of North Barrington, IL; one sister: JoAnn Pennington of Springfield and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 30, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 31, 2006 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home with Scott Brindley officiating. Cremation will be accorded by the Cremation Tribute Center, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Private family burial will follow at a later date at Oak Ridge Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Brain Tumor Association, 2720 River Rd., Des Plaines, IL 60018.
