

Phyllis Ann Taylor, 75, of Springfield, formerly of Vienna, passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at Memorial Medical Center in Springfield. She was born January 23, 1939 to the late William and Ruby Leone Murrie Mount. She was preceded in death by her brother Carl Mount and sister Betty Trout. Phyllis married Omer H. Taylor in 1962 and he preceded her in death in 2007. Mrs. Taylor was retired after working as a nursing home administrator for many years. As a member of the Vienna Methodist Church and later, the Chatham United Methodist Church, she was active in bible study and hospitality. She was very social and made many friends in the community and through Fit Club. Phyllis and her family enjoyed traveling and visited Canada, Europe and Hawaii. She will be greatly missed by her son, Michael (Dianna) Taylor of Chatham; daughters, Susan Taylor of Springfield, and Sara (Charlie) Pieterse of Connecticut; grandchildren, Lucas and Lauren Taylor and Jack and Katherine Pieterse; nieces and nephews, Jane Kluge, Jim Mount, John Mount, Lance Trover and Ashley Trover and many friends. Cremation rites will be accorded by Cremation Services of Central Illinois of Chatham before services. Her family will greet friends from 9-11am, Saturday, July 5, at Staab Polk Memorial Home, 8855 State Route 4, Chatham. Memorial Services will be held at 11 am at Staab Polk Memorial Home, with Rev. Sara Isbell officiating. Burial of her urn will be in Gillead Cemetery in Vienna.
