

Rachel Hollowell Brown, 78, of Chatham, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on Wednesday, November 7, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center. Rachel was born April 16, 1940 in Wildersville, Tennessee, the daughter of Joe and Mirl Azbell Hollowell. She married Roy Lee Brown on August 15, 1981 in Georgia, he preceded her in death on December 17, 2014. Rachel worked for the Red Cross in Germany and Texas. She moved to Loami in 1966. Roy and Rachel were loving foster parents who fostered over 100 babies and children during their time serving as foster parents. They were awarded Foster Parents of the Year in 1991. Three of the children they were able to adopt into their forever family. Rachel was of the Christian faith. She enjoyed gardening and the Christmas season with all that brings. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and adopted daughter, Tori Brown. She is survived by her children, Mike (Karen) Patterson of New Berlin, Judy (Denny) Williamson of New Berlin, Jeff (Brenda) Patterson of Springfield, and Greg Patterson of Loami; two adopted children, Sue Ann (Freddy) Colon of Florida and Page Brown of Georgia; sixteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; and brother, Jay (Patsy) Hollowell of Tennessee. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, 714 E. Gibson St., New Berlin. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at McCullough-Delaney & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. Warren Brosi officiating. Burial will follow at Woodwreath Cemetery.
