

Rachel C. Keebler, 66, of Riverton, died at 8:15 a.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 at St. John's Hospice. Rachel was born April 12, 1947 in Pleasant Plains, the daughter of Benjamin and Katie Caudill Kissick. She married Arley Keebler on June 25, 1966 in Springfield. Rachel was a graduate of Feitshans High School and worked as a medical transcriptionist and supervisor with Springfield Clinic for almost 20 years. She was a former member of the Christian Church Bowling League and belonged to Park Meadows Baptist Church in Lincoln. Rachel enjoyed bowling, sewing, cooking, reading and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Virginia Stringfield, Clacy Pauley and Oleta Shafer; and five brothers, Henry, Calvin, Benjamin, Robert and Ray Kissick. She is survived by her husband, Arley Keebler of Riverton; one daughter, Heidi Keebler of Oak Park; one grandchild, Christian Kuta-Dankwa of Oak Park; two sisters, Bernice (husband, Don) Heyen of Mt. Pulaski and Katie (husband, Jerry) Reynolds of Springfield; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation: Family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Monday, December 30, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, 900 S. 6th St., Springfield. Funeral Ceremony: 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 31, 2013 at Kirlin-Egan & Butler Funeral Home, with Rev. S.M. Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
