

He was born on June 7, 1921 in Croton, OH to Perry and Carrie Case who preceded him in death. He married June L. Antle of Springfield in Brownwood, TX on May 6, 1944, and she preceded him in death in 1994, 3 months shy of their 50th anniversary. He was also preceded in death by a son, Gary Raymond, and infant brother, Maurice and an older brother Karl.
Raymond was raised in central Ohio and attended Miami University where he majored in Business and Accounting. He was a member of SAE fraternity and a vocal quartet. Pearl Harbor happened during his senior year, so he joined the Army Reserves and served in World War II and later the Korean War. After the war, Raymond and his wife moved to Springfield where he soon joined Mutual of Omaha Insurance Company in Administration, where he worked for 42 years. While the Manager he led the sales team to many Presidents Circle awards, offering him travel to many parts of the globe. His love of travel lasted, and after June’s death he met Naomi Fowler with whom he spent many wonderful years traveling and enjoying other mutual activities.
Raymond was a member of Illini Country Club, Academy of Lifelong Learning, was an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church and was on the Board of the Illinois Presbyterian Home for many years, finally serving as president.
He is survived by his companion, Naomi Fowler; a daughter, Connie (Dale) Shoemaker of Springfield; son, Greg (Reginald Allen) Case of Washington D.C.; daughter, Cathy Case of Denver, CO; three grandchildren, Carrie (Dr. Phil) Shay of New York, NY, Jason (Jenni) Ohare of Knob Knoster, MO and Erik (Kris) Ohare of Midland, MI, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild; a sister, Catherine Murray of Lookout Mtn., TN; a cousin, Mary Ann Arter of Croton, OH and several nieces and nephews and their families.
Visitation will be at Westminster Presbyterian Church Tuesday April 30, 2013 from 11:00 AM to 12:45 PM. The funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday at the church with Rev. Julie Wells-Blythe officiating. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
