Raymond "Sam" Thomas Redick, Sr.

Raymond "Sam" Thomas Redick, Sr., 87, of Springfield, passed away at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at Memorial Medical Center. Raymond was born December 29, 1929 in Springfield, the son of Joseph and Victoria (Anduresvitch) Redick. He married Betty Joe Smith on March 18, 1950 at Third Presbyterian Church in Springfield; she preceded him in death on November 3, 2011. Raymond graduated from Lanphier High School in 1948 and was employed with Pillsbury Mills for 43 years until his retirement in 1991. He was a member of Third Presbyterian Church and an honorary member of the Anchor Boat Club. Raymond was an avid Phillies fan and gardener. He lovingly dedicated his life to his wife, children and grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents; granddaughter, Jennifer Ellis; son in law, Michael Motz; and two brothers, Joseph and Stanley Redick. He is survived by sons, Raymond (Lynne) Redick, Terry Redick and Russell (Cindy) Redick, all of Springfield; daughters, Vickie Motz of Chatham, Susan (Phil) Ellis of Blaine, TN and Laurie (Gary) Stover of Sherman; five grandchildren, Annya (Ray Jaber) Ellis, Lindsey (James) Coleman, Gary and Sarah Stover, and Tabitha Redick; and two great-grandchildren, Hannah and Eli. Cremation was accorded by Butler Cremation Tribute Center. Private ceremonies will be held for the family. Memorial contributions may be made to: American Heart Association, 2141 W.
