

He was born on December 8, 1938, in Springfield, the son of Daniel M. and Ester K. (Cramer) Mulcahy. Dick married his high school sweetheart, Mary M. Keefner on June 25, 1960, in Springfield.
Dick was a graduate of St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where he was the regent of Kappa Psi Fraternity. He and his wife, Mary, owned and operated Laketown Pharmacy for over thirty years. Dick then worked for the State of Illinois as a pharmacy consultant for several years, retiring in 2012. He enjoyed making wine and cooking to share with family and friends. Dick was proud of his Irish heritage, having made four trips to Ireland. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and going to their sporting events. Dick will be dearly missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Daniel J. Mulcahy; and daughter-in-law, Lisa Mulcahy.
Dick is survived by his wife, Mary Mulcahy of Springfield; children, Michelle (Kevin) Smith of Springfield, Joseph Mulcahy of Naples, FL, Kevin (Michelle) Mulcahy of Lorton, VA, Mark (Debbi) Mulcahy of Houston TX, Colleen (Brian) Henderson of Morton, IL, and Maureen (Guido) Di Donato; 11 grandchildren, Kelsey (Michael) Hash, Morgan (Will) Olson, Lauren Mulcahy, Thomas (Kari) Smith, William (Cassidy) Smith, Margaret (Caleb) George, Matthew Smith, Rachel Henderson, Cailynn Mulcahy, Mara Mulcahy, and Geno Di Donato; great-grandson, Noah Hash; and sister, Joanne (Paul) Wilkey of Festus, MO.
Visitation and Mass of Christian Burial: Family will receive friends from 9:00 to 9:45 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Christ the King Catholic Church, 1930 Barberry Dr., Springfield, followed by the Mass at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Alex McCullough, celebrant.
Burial will be at a later date at Calvary Cemetery.
