Richard A. McCarty

He was born on April 11, 1939 in Springfield, the son of the late Adrian and Guyla (Wells) McCarty, Sr. He married Linda Jordan on June 27, 1986 in Springfield and she survives.

Mr. McCarty worked as a linen handler at St. John’s Hospital in Springfield.

Besides his wife Linda, he is survived by 3 daughters, Lori (husband Scott) Dunn of Springfield, Jennifer (husband Charles) Rutherford of Springfield, and Melissa (husband Aaron) Beard of Sherman, IL, a son William (wife Amy) Jordan of Springfield, 4 grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Daniel Woods, Zoah “Zoey” Beard, Waylen Rutherford, and Wyatt Jordan, 3 brothers, Adrian (wife Judy) McCarty, Jr., James (wife Jolene) McCarty, and Jack (wife Mary) McCarty, all of Springfield, and a sister JoAnne (husband William) Mackiney of Springfield. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Services are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield where visitation will be held on Thursday, August 4, 2011 from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral services will immediately follow the visitation, starting at 7 pm. Private burial will follow on Friday at Oak Hill Cemetery, Springfield.
