

Dick was born on January 14, 1937 in Springfield, the son of Charles D. and Helen (Hudson-Kasper) Pile, Sr. He married Mary Lou Ducey and she preceded him in death in 1996. He later married Marilynn Nation-Napier on March 21, 2004 in Springfield and she survives.
Dick retired as a design engineer from both Bunn-O-Matic and Fiat Allis. He attended St. Al's and Cathedral Boys School. He was a very proud member of the Knights of Columbus #4179 and a former member of the Eagles Club. His passions in life were fishing, watching his St. Louis Cardinals play ball, watching Notre Dame and his Chicago Bears, and utmost “taking rides on his pontoon”.
Besides his wife Marilynn, he is survived by 4 children, Richard (wife Tina) Pile, John (wife Sue) Pile, Sherry (fiancé Jeff Banning) Abeln, and Mechelle Meyer, all of Springfield; 2 stepsons, R. Michael (wife Kristen) Napier and Steven M. (wife Ashley) Napier, 13 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Besides his parents and his 1st wife Mary Lou, he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, John Pyle and Charles Schwarberg, and his beautiful sister Pat Hauversburk who were all from Springfield.
Arrangements are under the direction of Bisch and Son Funeral Home, 505 E. Allen, Springfield. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Knights of Columbus #4179, 141 N. Lakewood Dr., Chatham, IL 62629, starting at 1 pm. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.
